I read a bit of The Dao de Jing: A Qigong Interpretation by Dr. Jwing-Ming Yang; most of these notes are from that version. It intrigued me because my family practices qigong. However, I found that I enjoy reading with my own interpretation, so I picked up a different translation and am still working through that.

When the book says to be free from human emotions and desires, it’s more that you can still feel them but you won’t get swept away from them. Standing above the tide versus getting swept under.
